Doleshwar defeat MSC to keep title hope alive

Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club defeated Mohammedan Sporting Club by 97 runs during their Super League match of the Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2016-17 season at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Saturday. With the win, Doleshwar kept alive their hope of clinching the title as they have 22 points from 15 matches while table topper Gazi Group Cricketers have 24 from the same number of games. Interestingly, Doleshwar will face Gazi in their last match of the Super League. The final round therefore, will decide the championship with holder Abahani Limited, who have 22 points, also in the running. Doleshwar, asked to bat first, posted a challenging total of 264 losing six wickets in their stipulated 50 overs. In-form batsmen Shahriar Nafees and Marshal Ayub scored 70 and 50 respectively. Seamer Sajedul Islam took two wickets for Mohammedan. In reply, Mohammedan were bundled out for 167 in 34.5 overs. Indian cricketer Bipul Sharma top-scored for Mohameddan with 48.
