Bangladesh national team’s middle-order batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is pleased with the individual training session that is arranged by Bangladesh Cricket Board in last few days and hope cricket will start soon in the country as coronavirus pandemic has halted all sorts of cricket activities since late-March.
Initially nine cricketers made individual practice under special arrangements of BCB across four venues in the country. Later, pacer Mehedi Hasan Rana, all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz and top-order batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto also availed the opportunity.
“First time in my life I am having such kind of experience as we are under lock-down for four months. As a player, it was a very difficult period for us in last four months. We tried to maintain our fitness and continue some fitness work from home.
“Thanks to Bangladesh Cricket Board for providing us the opportunity and facilities to start the training sessions. Special thanks to Cricket Operations as they organized these sessions with proper schedule for each and everyone. These sessions are fruitful,” said Mushfiq to media.
“Initially I was a bit of confused about starting practice in Mirpur as there are few areas in Mirpur which are being considered as Red Zone of corona pandemic. But my confidence was increased after starting practice as everything was well-planned and neat and clean during practice.”

“Not only me, I think, every other player who has practiced here in Mirpur can also agree with me that the environment on individual training was very good.”
“My individual training in last seven eight days have been going very well. Because working on home and in the filed under sun have a lot of differences. All the running sessions and skill sessions have gone well and thanks to BCB for the arrangement,” added the wicket-keeper batsman.
Mushfiq hopes cricket will be back soon and if the situation gets normal after Eid vacation then group training will start soon.
“The way cricket is getting back in the world after the pandemic, I am hoping that cricket will start soon in Bangladesh as well.”
“Although the overall situation in Bangladesh might be different compare to some other countries. But, if the situation gets better after the Eid, then we can think of start practicing as a team,” Mushfiq concluded.
