Bangladesh Cricket Board is hopeful of having the national team’s tour of Sri Lanka as per plans in July this year.
Both BCB and Sri Lanka Cricket are in discussion over the future of the bilateral series amid worldwide lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic.
Both the boards will however, follow the instructions from their respective governments before getting into a final commitment on the series.
BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury informed the media that they are in regular communication with SLC regarding the tour that includes three Test matches - part of the World Test Championship.

“I had a meeting with the SLC CEO even yesterday [Wednesday]. We are discussing about the tour but we are yet to decide anything at the moment,” said Nizamuddin to the media Thursday.
In March, BCB suspended all its activities in the country, including international fixtures.
The board first postponed the third and final phase of Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan, comprising the lone ODI and the second Test in Karachi in April, and also the tour of Ireland in May, which involved ODIs and T20Is, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The two-Test series against Australia at home has also been postponed and there is uncertainty over hosting New Zealand for two-Test series in August.

On having the tour of Sri Lanka, Nizamuddin found confidence from the coronavirus situation in the island nation.
Sri Lanka is comparatively handling the situation well compared to that of its neighboring countries.
Bangladesh are scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka in the third week of July for the three Tests, to be played in Colombo, Galle and Kandy.
“One thing you have to keep in mind is that the government's instructions on travel are also important. If only that country is alright then that will not be enough, the guidance of our government is also important,” Nizamuddin explained.
“We are observing the situation and how their government is tackling the situation and all that, along with keeping an eye on what is the order of our government because we have to see all these things,” he added.
