Rain, lack of facilities annoy visiting Bangladesh

Update : 15 May 2017, 08:21 PM
It has not been a pleasant time for the visiting Bangladesh team so far ever since they reached Ireland for the tri-nation series including the other visiting team, New Zealand, as rain along with some lack of basic facilities provided by the Ireland Cricket authorities especially in Dublin have certainly disturbed the mindset of the cricketers. Once again rain forced the Bangladesh team to remain indoor yesterday which will indeed hamper the preparation for the upcoming match in the series ahead of ICC Champions Trophy in June. Previously Bangladesh’s first match against host Ireland was washed out due to heavy rain as both the teams split the points. Apart from rain, the lack of facilities have also frustrated the Bangladeshi players and according to the sources Mashrafe bin Mortaza and his troop went to Balbriggan Cricket Club for their first practice session on Sunday but surprisingly there were no net facilities and only the center wicket was available for practice. The pitch was also not fitting enough for batting as the ball was keeping low which forced the batsmen to spend time at the indoor. It was also learned that there were no television in the dressing room during the first ODI of the tri-nation and the players were unable to have the idea about what was the situation and the pitch condition in the middle. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials in Ireland have informed the situation to the Cricket Ireland. Meanwhile it was also known that New Zealand team have also expressed their disappointments about the facilities in Dublin. Captain Mashrafe will return to the side after serving a one-match suspension as Bangladesh will take on New Zealand on Wednesday. The tri-series is a league-based competition where the team with most points after two rounds will be declared as winner. Tom Latham’s New Zealand beat Ireland by 51 runs to begin the series on Sunday where left arm spinner Mitchell Santner picked up his maiden five wicket haul for the Kiwis.
