Bangladesh opening batsman Parvez Hossain Emon expressed extreme delight after his side’s historic triumph in the U-19 World Cup final against India at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom Sunday.

The young Tigers beat India by three wickets with 23 balls in accordance with the Duckworth/Lewis method to spark wild celebrations back home as the former finally got the number of the latter in a grand finale.

Emon played a starring role with the bat, scoring 47 off 79 balls, including seven fours, to lay the platform for Bangladesh’s eventually successful chase.

“It was a great experience. We are world champion now. I am feeling really good. It was a tough chase, and we had to work really hard. [This feels] just so good,” said Emon.
