Bangladesh left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan said it was an unbelievable experience after winning the U-19 World Cup final against India at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom Sunday, which was the country’s first major multi-nation cricket title across all levels.
The young Tigers beat India by three wickets with 23 balls in accordance with the Duckworth/Lewis method to spark wild celebrations back home as the former finally got the number of the latter in a grand finale.
"It's an unbelievable experience. We came here with plans and it worked out really well. Whichever team executes their plans better on the day wins, and that happened for us," said Rakibul.
Rakibul had a tournament to remember as he bagged 12 wickets in six matches and finished as the seven highest wicket-taker.
The 17-year old also took a hat-trick in the group stage and was his usual dependable self in the final, conceding just 29 runs in his quota of 10 overs, including a wicket and a maiden.
