East Zone openers Pinak Ghosh and Mohammad Ashraful both missed out on centuries after beginning the chase of a mammoth 482 by South Zone in their first innings.
South resumed batting on the second day on 443/6, with Nurul Hasan and Farhad Reza at the crease.
Nurul could not add to his overnight tally of 155, getting dismissed lbw by East Zone pacer Hasan Mahmud.
The rest of the South batsmen were also dismissed within the next 13 overs as they reached 482 in their first innings.

East began their first innings brightly, with openers Pinak Ghosh and Ashraful both notching half-centuries.
Ashraful was the first of the two to be dismissed, getting bowled out by left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak after scoring 71 runs off 123 balls.
Ghosh followed his opening partner back to the pavilion a few overs later, getting caught out off the bowling of Farhad Reza after scoring 80 off 151 deliveries.
Subsequently, Yasir Ali (44), Imrul Kayes (28) and Afif Hossain (15) also lost their wickets as East ended the day on 270/5, trailing by 212 runs.
