Ottis Gibson is on the verge of joining Bangladesh team as the new pace bowling coach as preparations have been taken to make the former West Indies cricketer available for the Lahore leg of the Pakistan tour.
According to a Bangladesh Cricket Board official, the board and Gibson have verbally reached consensus and only signing of the papers remain to be completed.
The former South Africa coach is likely to travel to Dhaka for a short stay where he will sign his deal with the BCB before joining the Tigers for the three T20Is against host Pakistan.
“We have verbally reached an agreement and only formalities remain. Once that is done, he will be available to join the Bangladesh team in Lahore,” said a BCB high-up to Dhaka Tribune requesting anonymity Tuesday.

Gibson’s joining will see Champaka Ramanayake exit the roster from the touring party to Pakistan.
BCB high performance coach Champaka was made part of the tour of Pakistan after ex-Protea cricketer Charl Langeveldt was released as the Tigers pace bowling coach in December last year.
The Tigers T20I squad are scheduled to leave here for Lahore Wednesday on a chartered Bangladesh Biman flight, ahead of the first match Friday.
