Bangladesh left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan has become the first player to take a hat-trick in the 2020 U-19 World Cup.

The 17-year old castled three Scotland batsmen in the 24th over during their Group C match in Potchefstroom Tuesday.

Rakibul recorded his treble by cleaning up Kess Sajjad in the third delivery, before trapping Lyle Robertson in front and then clean bowling Charlie Peet off consecutive balls.

Rakibul ended up with bowling figure of 4/20 in 5.3 overs as Bangladesh skittled Scotland out for just 89 in 30.3 overs.

In the process, Rakibul became the second Bangladeshi to bag a hat-trick in the U-19 World Cup after right-arm seamer Kamrul Islam Rabbi, who achieved the feat in 2010 against Ireland.
