Prime Bank Cricket Club moved to the top of the points table following their comprehensive 130-run victory over Victoria Sporting Club in round four of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2016-17 season on Thursday.
With eight points, Prime joined Gazi Group Cricketers at the summit of the league table.
In the other two matches, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited beat Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity by four wickets while Brothers Union defeated Partex Sporting Club by seven wickets.Brothers v Partex, BKSP 3Boosted by Nihaduzzaman’s four wickets, Brothers skittled Partex out for just 102 in 30.5 overs. Only three Partex batsmen reached double figures with Sazzadul Haque, batting at No 8, scoring the highest 42 off 55 balls. Player of the match Nihaduzzaman’s effort was complemented well by his fellow bowlers as Nayeem Hasan and Kamrul Islam picked up two wickets each.
Chasing the small target, Brothers reached their destination in 17.5 overs losing three wickets. Farhad Hossain top-scored with an unbeaten 35.Mohammedan v Khelaghar, FatullahMohammedan registered their second win of the tournament when they got the better of Khelaghar. Khelaghar were well on track at one stage, having scored 111 for the loss of three wickets in 24.3 overs.
However, a batting debacle meant Khelaghar added only 78 losing their remaining seven wickets. . Enamul Haque Jr bagged three wickets for Mohammedan.
Chasing 190, Mohammedan lost only four wickets and reached their target in 44.5 overs. Raqibul Hasan led the chase from the front with an undefeated 76. His 122-ball innings included half a dozen boundaries and three over boundaries.Prime v Victoria, BKSP 4Riding on Mehedi Maruf’s 103-ball 101, featuring a dozen fours and a couple of sixes, Prime posted 283 on the board in 49.4 overs. Mehedi overall stitched together three 50-plus partnerships. He added the most - 55 – alongside Abhumanyu Easwaran for the second wicket. Monir Hossain notched three wickets for Victoria.
Defending the target, Prime's bowling attack saw as many as eight bowlers used. Ariful Haque topped the chart with three wickets.
