When the Bangladesh team was warming up ahead of a practice session at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Tuesday, the India under 23 women’s team were observing them. Indian captain Riddhi Ruparel was particularly delighted, as she got the opportunity to meet her favourite player – Mushfiqur Rahim.
Riddhi had previously come to Bangladesh once, to play for Kalabagan Krira Chakra. She had wished to meet Mushfiq as well as Shakib al Hasan at the time, but was unable to do so as they were busy playing a series.
“I follow his [Mushfiq’s] batting. He usually gets settled down first and then starts to play attacking shots. I also try to bat like that, and I am a wicketkeeper as well. He played brilliantly in the last match, and scored four boundaries consecutively to seal it,” Riddihi told reporters at the practice session.
After speaking to Mushfiq for some time, the two took some photos together and Mushfiq wished her good luck.
