Bangladesh U-19 began their U-19 Asia Cup campaign with a convincing six-wicket victory against their UAE counterparts in Katunayake, Sri Lanka Friday.
Asked to bat first, the Emiratis were bundled out for 127 in 28 overs in the face of some devastating bowling by the junior Tigers.
Bangladesh’s Rakibul Hasan and Tanzim Hasan Sakib bagged three wickets apiece while Shariful Islam notched two.
None of the UAE batters offered any resistance with the exception of middle-order batsmen Alishan Sharafu (34) and Osama Hasan (58), who were the only ones to reach double figure.
Were it not for the 75-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Sharafu and Osama, UAE would’ve been skittled out for well below 100.
In reply, Bangladesh romped to their destination in only 21.3 overs with opener Tanzid Hasan top-scoring for his side with a brisk 27-ball 45, featuring three fours and four sixes.
A blitz from Tanzid Hasan at the top of the order helps Bangladesh (U19) to a 6-wicket win against a gritty UAE( U19) side!
