Bangladesh Emerging Team off-spinner Nayeem Hasan grabbed four wickets against Sri Lanka Emerging Team on the second day of their first four-day match at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna Wednesday.
With Nayeem’s heroics, the host reduced the visitor to 101/4 after posting 360 runs in their first innings.
The match is expected to take a twist Thursday.
Replying to the host’s innings, the Sri Lankans lost wickets at regular intervals and at one stage were reduced to a precarious 59/4.

But Ashen Bandara and Promod Maduwantha put a brake on the wicket takings of the host as they made sure no more wickets were lost till stumps, remaining not out on 23 and 21 respectively.
Nayeem, who came into the attack as first change, created all sorts of trouble for the visitor and finished the day with figure of 4/31.
Earlier in the day, host captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto resumed the innings on 124 and although he was determined to stretch his brilliant innings to a lot bigger number, he was the first man to be dismissed on the day.
Bangladesh, who started the day on 233/4, made 249/5 when Shanto was trapped in front for 133 off the bowling of Kalana Perera.

Shanto played 269 balls in his innings that consisted of 13 fours and one six.
But another overnight batsman Zakir Hasan continued to roll the run wheel and although he made sure it went past 300, he was dismissed for an unfortunate figure of 49.
Nayeem, who made his Test debut last November, also contributed with the bat as he scored 36 to help his side attain a healthy total.
Sri Lankan off-spinner Ramesh Mendis was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged four wickets conceding 73 runs.
