Rangpur Riders captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza has hopes of playing cricket for 20 years.
He expressed his intentions to play for as long as his body can allow him to play and has the two decade mark as a target.
The most successful ODI captain in Bangladesh cricket history made his international debut in November 2001 and is playing professional and international cricket for over 18 years.
The right-arm pacer is currently in his 19th season though multiple career-threatening knee injuries and surgeries have kept him to playing just limited overs cricket.

The inspirational captain last played a Test match in July 2009 and has also retired from T20Is in April 2017.
“Hopefully, God willing, if my body stays fit, I want to play. I’m not sure what will happen (to my career) in international cricket but I have always wanted to play cricket for 20 years. I want to continue playing the BPL and the DPL and other domestic leagues for as long as I can. This is where players make it to the national team and it has been a long term target of mine to play for 20 years,” Mashrafe said at the post-match press conference in Mirpur on Wednesday.
Mashrafe also expressed that he wanted to play the next edition of the BPL: “If the tournament starts on time, there is definitely going to be a chance to play in the tournament. I want to play, so let’s see.”
