Islami Bank East Zone opener Rony Talukdar registered a half-century and pacer Hasan Mahmud picked up four wickets in the first round of the Bangladesh Cricket League at stumps on day two, Thursday.
Right-handed opener Rony struck 54 as East Zone trail by 320 runs against BCB North Zone in Rajshahi’s Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium.
Driven by Rony’s half-century, East Zone posted 125 losing four wickets.
Pacer Ebadat Hossain and spinner Sanjamul Islam bagged two scalps each for North Zone.
Earlier, North Zone resumed their batting in the first innings to start the day with 335 for two on the board from their overnight score with Naeem Islam and Jahurul Islam unbeaten on 111 and 100 respectively.
Jahurul got dismissed on 104 to break the 239-run stand with Naeem for the third wicket.
Naeem got dismissed for 137 as East Zone youngster Hasan notched four wickets to restrict the East Zone innings to 445.
Veteran left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr picked up three wickets.
