Three dropped catches have denied debutant right-arm pacer Khaled Ahmed from his maiden Test wicket.
The first two had come in Zimbabwe’s first innings.
In the fourth over of the innings Ariful Haque dropped Hamilton Masakadza and perhaps jinxed Khaled’s luck.
In the 30th over the innings, Khaled had another catch dropped of his bowling. This time, it was Taijul Islam at point dropping Brian Chari.
On day four of the game with Zimbabwe chasing 443 runs Khaled had his hands on his head, with sheer frustration.
In the last ball of the ninth over, Masakadza was dropped on five, and this time by Mehedi at slips.
Khaled had started celebrating, believing the catch was taken, only to have his celebration turn into despair.
Perhaps being one of the junior most in the team, the 26-year-old Khaled could not vent his frustration as much as he would have liked to.
