Bangladesh off-spinner Khadija-tul Kubra’s record six-for saw her side finish the series against their Pakistan counterparts on a winning note. The Tigresses registered a six-wicket win over the visitor in the lone ODI at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar Monday.
Asian champion Bangladesh had gone into the ODI on the back of a whitewash in the four-match T20I series. But the home side scripted a brilliant turnaround after Pakistan batted first.
Off-spinner Kubra bagged six wickets as Bangladesh restricted the opponent to 94 runs in 34.5 overs, Pakistan’s second-lowest score against the Tigresses. Only the first three Pakistan batters could reach double digit with captain Javeria Khan scoring 29, the highest in the innings.
During the one-off ODI against Pakistan Women, Khadija Tul Kubra has registered the best bowling figure (6/20) in ODIs for Bangladesh Women.

Kubra following her career-best performance emerged as the first Bangladeshi woman - and 14th overall - to take six or more wickets in ODIs. Kubra removed Ayesha Zafar in the 15th over to claim her first wicket in the game, and went on to dismiss Nida Dar, Umaima Sohail, Javeria, Sidra Nawaz and Nashra Sandhu.
Boosted with the momentum, Bangladesh, despite losing two early wickets, cruised to victory riding on an 81-run third-wicket stand between Fargana Hoque and skipper Rumana Ahmed. Fargana was the aggressor, scoring 48 off 81 balls, while Rumana added 34.
The duo perished in quick succession as Bangladesh required another eight runs for the win. Lata Mondal remained unbeaten on three while Fahima Khatun was five not out as the host reached the shore with 21 overs to spare.
