Bangladesh T20I captain Salma Khatun informed that the side are not targeting a particular opposition, rather treating all the matches as equally important

Bangladesh women’s side will leave Dhaka Friday for the Asia Cup T20I 2018 with the motive of registering a team performance, rather than targeting a particular opponent.

The women in red and green have been going through a busy schedule of late, having just returned from the tour of South Africa on May 22. Bangladesh right after returning home underwent a week-long camp in Sylhet and will now travel to Malaysia for the six-nation tournament.

Bangladesh T20I captain Salma Khatun informed that the side are not targeting a particular opposition, rather treating all the matches as equally important.

“All the games will be tough. I do not think there are any weak or ordinary opponent in the tournament. All of them know how to play cricket and so do we,” said Salma to the media at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Thursday.

Bangladesh in the tournament will face India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Thailand and Malaysia. The women in red and green will start their campaign against Sri Lanka at Royal Selangor Club Sunday. The two teams finishing top in the league will play the title-deciding game on June 10.

“We have all our focus on playing good cricket. We can achieve a result if we play good cricket. We can reach the final,” said Salma.

In the second match, Bangladesh will face their Pakistan counterpart Monday at Kinrara Oval. Wednesday, Bangladesh will take on giant India. Bangladesh in their last two leagues matches will face Thailand and host Malaysia on June 7 and 9 respectively.
