Imrul on way to match fitness ahead of Sri Lanka tour

Update : 16 Feb 2017, 09:54 PM
The left-hander was recently ruled out of the one-off Test match against India after aggravating his thigh injury during the two-day warm-up game against India A in Hyderabad. Imrul originally incurred the injury in New Zealand during the second and final Test. Since then, he has been working on his rehabilitation. “I am going through rehabilitation since returning from India. I started batting and did some running in the last two days. I did not feel that much pain while batting and running and I am feeling much better now,” Imrul told the media in Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium last Wednesday. The Meherpur cricketer is expected to take part in the fourth round of the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League, starting this Sunday. He informed that his BCL outing will help him to return to international cricket. “Obviously, the BCL game will definitely help me as I have not played domestic cricket for some time now. It will help me to gain confidence. I will get to know my match fitness. I hope this BCL game will help me to find my rhythm back in both batting and fielding,” he said.
