Miraz eases Bangladesh worries
Bangladesh bowlers started the day on a frustrating note as the wicket had almost zero help for the bowlers. However, the visitors did not have to wait long as, by the 10th over, the spinners were getting some turn. And a turning delivery of India's 115th over bowled by Mehedi Hasan Miraz gave Bangladesh some confidence. Miraz had looped the ball up outside off to India captain Virat Kohli, who played around it but missed. As it were, the ball hit the pads. Miraz and the other Bangladesh fields shouted in vain for an LBW appeal that was turned down as the ball had spun too sharply to miss the leg-stump. Kohli, then on 174, remained at the crease but the ball's movement was a confident booster.Mushfiq hits the air
Bangladesh’s day turned from bad to worse when captain and wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim failed to contact with the wickets not once but twice on the same occasion. As a result, India's stumper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha received a let-off. Saha, batting on four, was far out of the crease after Taijul Islan spun the ball to deceive the batsman. Mushfiq was too far from the stumps and failed to crash the timber. And by the time he was able to disturb the stumps, Saha, who went on to score an unbeaten 106, was back home safely.Tamim drops one after two years
Indian late middle-order batsman Ravindra Jadeja, dropped on 40 by Tamim Iqbal at long-off, came in as shock. Considered one of the safest fielders in the Bangladesh team, Tamim last dropped a catch two years ago, against England in the 2015 World Cup down under. Tamim’s drop added to the long list of Bangladesh's fielding woes which have been troubling the side recently. Jadeja went on to score an unbeaten 60 before India declared on 687 for six, the second highest ever Test total in an innings against Bangladesh by any team.
