It was a nightmare over from Saifuddin, who experienced a similar situation just a month ago when he conceded 31 runs in an over against South Africa in a T20I. Saifuddin was smashed for five consecutive sixes in that over by South Africa’s David Miller. Saifuddin bowled well in his first two overs against the Kings as he took two wickets and conceded only six runs. But his last two overs cost 12 and 32 runs respectively. Saifuddin finished with sorry bowling figure of 3/50 from his quota of four overs.Triple strike for Sami in an overRajshahi pacer Mohammad Sami sent down four brilliant overs against Comilla to help his side defend 185. The veteran right-arm paceman gave away only nine runs in his four overs, taking four wickets. Comilla were batting well at one stage, building a solid 87-run partnership for the third wicket. Seamer Dwayne Smith broke the important partnership by taking the wicket of Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik. Later, Comilla captain Tamim Iqbal and Englishman Jos Buttler regrouped and formed a promising partnership. After 14 overs, Comilla required 64 of 36 balls with Tamim batting on 63 off 44 and Buttler on 13 off seven. Comilla were well and truly alive in their chase with seven wickets in hand. But Sami took three wickets in the 15th over and literally ended any chance Comilla had of chasing down the target. Sami first took the crucial wicket of Tamim in the second ball of the over, and then got the wickets of the veteran Alok Kapali and Saifuddin. And so, three wickets for Sami within six balls, and eventually, Comilla lost the momentum in the end.Mashrafe at No 3, scores 42 off 17Rangpur Riders were in pursuit of a challenging total of 177 against home team Chittagong Vikings. The opening pair of Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle failed to produce a quick start and later, McCullum got out scoring just 15 off 20 balls. Surprisingly, captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza came out to bat at No 3 for the Riders. The scoreboard read 31/1 after 5.2 overs when he arrived to the middle. And the captain fantastic did exactly what his team required, playing a quickfire innings to raise the tempo. Mashrafe scored 42 off just 17 balls with four fours and three sixes before being cleaned up by spinner Sanjamul Islam in the 10th over. The Mashrafe-Gayle duo added exactly 60 in just 4.2 overs. Among those 60 runs, Mashrafe scored 42, Gayle made 15 while the remaining three runs came off extras.
