Tamim faced the likes of youngster Mehedi Hasan Miraz, spinner Mominul Haque, fast bowler Taskin Ahmed and spin bowling consultant Sunil Joshi in the nets at De Beers Diamond Oval. The left-hander looked fluent while batting, hitting some big sixes against Miraz and Mominul. Following a short break, Tamim went back to the nets again as this time, head coach Chandika Hathurusingha threw balls toward him. After incurring the injury, Tamim only did knocking session Friday. The left-hander batting in the nets came to the delight of the Tigers team management.

The opening batsman did not take part in any running session Friday. According to a team source, Tamim will take part in full training Saturday and after that, his situation will be assessed whether he can play in the first ODI. Tamim’s return will be crucial for the Tigers as he is in blistering form in 2017. Tamim scored 623 runs in 10 innings with an average of 69.22 this year with two centuries and four fifties. The first of three ODIs will be held in Kimberley Sunday. The match begins at 10am local time, 2pm Bangladesh standard time, and will be telecast live on GTV and Maasranga TV.
