Update : 07 Dec 2016, 11:33 PM
Pooran shows glimpses of hitting ability Khulna Titans wicketkeeper-batsman is highly regarded as a clean hitter of the ball. But the left-handed West Indian failed to impress in the ongoing fourth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20. Wednesday was perhaps the biggest stage for him to prove his mettle. Coming in at No 3, Pooran started superbly, hitting two boundaries and a six off his first four deliveries. Later, he smashed another huge six over long-on off Rajshahi Kings youngster Afif Hossain by charging down the wicket. But he was eventually dismissed by Afif in the seventh over. Pooran yet again charged down the wicket in order to clear the boundary but this time around, he was caught by Farhad Reza. Pooran's promising innings of 22 runs off just 10 balls thus ended prematurely. Rajshahi's Sabbir Rahman plays a shot on way to his workmanlike 43 DHAKA TRIBUNEThirty-one balls before first boundary, uncharacteristic SabbirSabbir Rahman is labelled one of the most exciting T20 batsman in the country due to his aggressive style of play. He smashed the only century of the tournament against Barisal Bulls on November 13. That 122-run innings came off just 61 balls. He smashed nine fours and as many sixes in that knock. But Sabbir played a patient innings against Khulna on Wednesday. In his first 31 deliveries, he scored only 14 runs and surprisingly, hit no boundaries. Later he scored 43 runs off 52 balls. Going 31 balls without a boundary is very uncharacteristic for a player like Sabbir. But on the other hand, it was a matured innings from him as it was virtually the semi-finals of the tournament.
