Pakistan have obtained a solid control in the first day of second test after loping 323 for 3 at stumps at Mirpur on Wednesday.
A stupendous 250-run partnership in the third wicket stand by ace batsmen Younis Khan and Azhar Ali helped the tourists to initiate command of the second Test. Both batsmen completed hundreds, and also forced the Tigers to use nine bowlers.
Younis Khan scored 148 and Azhar Ali made an unbeaten 127.
Bangladesh needed to take some early wickets to prevent the visitors from posting a mammoth total on the board.Lunch would have tasted much better for the Tigers, but Shahid overstepped the line when Soumya Sarkar caught Azhar Ali's outside edge at third slip.
Soon after the second new ball was taken, Younis Khan, who was also caught off a no-ball before reaching his hundred, cut a Shahid delivery straight to the fielder.
Opener Sami Aslam scored 19 while Mohammad Hafeez, who made a double century in the first test, scored just 8 runs this time.
Bangladesh was left one bowler short after fast bowler Shahadat Hossain hobbled off the field following his second delivery in the first over of the morning.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh had won the toss and elected to field first.
Bangladesh made just one change to the side that ended in a record draw, with pace bowler Shahadat Hossain replacing Rubel Hossain.
Mohammad Hafeez and Tamim Iqbal made their maiden double-centuries, Imrul Kayes recorded 51 and 150 in two digs, and six other batsmen registered half-centuries in the drawn first Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan in Khulna, which produced 1,515 runs across three innings, the third of them unfinished.
Pakistan will be particularly eager to end the tour on a winning note, after losing the three One-Day Internationals and the one-off Twenty20 International. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be keen to build on newfound confidence and register the first-ever win over the visitor in the five-day format.
