Saff winners Sohagi, Sapna get heroic reception in Thakurgaon

Sohagi Kisku and Sapna Rani, two footballers who won the Saff Women's Championship, were warmly welcomed by the district authorities of Thakurgaon.

The reception was organized by the district administration and the district sports organization in front of the district commissioner's office on Saturday.

Thakurgaon-1 MP Ramesh Chandra Sen along with the district administration, Thakurgaon municipality authorities and various organizations including district sports association welcomed the two footballers with floral wreaths. 

Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman presided over the reception and Thakurgaon-1 MP Ramesh Chandra Sen was the chief guest.

In the event, Sohagi and Sapna were given Tk50,000 and Tk1 lakh by the district administration. Apart from this, gift checks of Tk25,000 and Tk50,000 were handed over by the Thakurgaon District Sports Association and Tk20,000 by the municipality.

This recognition, in the opinion of Sohagi and Sapna, will boost their drive and serve as an inspiration for present and future female football players
