National flag carrier Biman Bangladesh and Hazrat Shahajalal International Airport have both refuted claims that money and valuables were stolen from the luggage of two players at Dhaka airport.
Airport Executive Director Kamrul Islam told Dhaka Tribune that the incident did not occur at the HSIA.
Airport authorities also confirmed the matter in a media statement on Thursday.
They said that after careful scrutiny of the CCTV footages, they have come to the conclusion that none of the luggage was tampered with.
Meanwhile, Biman issued a statement saying that the luggage were handed over with utmost importance and supervision.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) representatives received the luggage on behalf of the players, the statement read.
While receiving the luggage, no complaints of luggage tampering or missing money was made with Biman authorities, it added.
They said that the airport authorities have found no proof of the matter after scrutinizing the security footage and called on everyone to not spread misinformation.

Biman Bangladesh Country Manager, Nepal, AFM Anisur Rahman told Dhaka Tribune that they have informed Nepal airport and civil aviation authorities regarding the matter.
He added that the Biman headquarters have given them a number of instructions and guidelines over the matter and sought their assistance regarding the matter.
According to a team source, a bag got stolen from a trolley at the airport and it contained $800 belonging to Shamsunnahar and Krishna Rani Sarkar. Krishna also reportedly lost Tk50,000.
Marzia Akhter’s Nepali rupees also got stolen and the champions girls were visibly upset with the theft incident.
Bangladesh women’s football team head coach Golam Rabbani Choton told said that they got to know of the matter on Wednesday night.
