On the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence, Bangabandhu Cricket Championship was held at Gulshan Youth Club on Saturday by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh.
In this tournament JCI Dhaka Young became the champion and runners-up was JCI Dhaka Uptown, read a press release published on Wednesday.
Honorable Member of Parliament for Munshiganj 2 constituency Prof Sagufta Yasmin Emily, Honorable Member of Parliament for Tangail 2 Tanvir Rahman Choto Monir, NGB members of JCI Bangladesh, members of Local Chapters and invited guests were present as special guests.
Special Guest Sagufta Yasmin said: "Independence means Sheikh Mujib, Bangabandhu embodies the identity of Bangalis, Bangabandhu is the address of Bangalis. Hon'ble Prime Minister, Bangabandhu's daughter, Sheikh Hasina is by our side with utmost compassion and love to encourage children and teenagers about sports."
At the end of the tournament, special guests distributed prizes among the winning teams and players.

Nabil Chowdhury, a member of the winning team of JCI Dhaka Young, was declared Man of the Match and Nazmul Haque was declared Man of the Tournament.
The other players of JCI Dhaka Young were Local President Nazmul Hossain Sabuj, Local Treasurer Md Rafiqul Islam Rumon, Director Shami Mahmud Khan along with Hasan, Maruf, Rajan, Al-Alamin and Titas.
JCI members enjoyed the day in a very happy atmosphere. JCI South and T-Sports broadcasted the entire game via live telecast. Dhaka Young's spontaneous participation in the tournament and winning the championship was lauded and congratulated by all quarters.
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is an organization of enterprising young people between the ages of 18 and 40. JCI currently has 18 local chapters in Bangladesh.
