Team Voyangkor Sundor ask ‘Subodh’ to come back

“Subodh tui paliye ja ekhon shomoy pokkhe na” (get away ‘Subodh’, time is not on your side), a graffiti depicting a man running with a cage and a sun trapped inside it, started to appear a few months ago in many walls across the Dhaka city. Who is this Subodh? Who are drawing these on the walls? What does the message mean? These are the questions that curious people have been asking. Meanwhile, director Animesh Aich grabbed the opportunity to promote his upcoming psychological drama Voyangkor Sundor by invoking the ‘Subodh’ graffiti on his Facebook page. In his Facebook posts the acclaimed director is asking ‘Subodh’ to ‘come back’, promising him a better future of the Bangla film industry. The posts contain the date of release for the upcoming film Voyangkor Sundor, implying that the film will usher in better days for Bangladeshi cinema. Animesh and his team were seen campaigning in the social media outlets, saying, “Comeback Subodh. Voyangkor Sundor is getting released on August 4. Good days of Bangla film will surely return.” Ashna Habib Bhabna, the female protagonist of the film, said, “We want to revive the ‘Su-bodh’ (good-sense) of the audience with the release of Voyangkor Sundor. Our country is a country of stories, but the kind of stories we want to promote are those that will make the people think.” Voyangkor Sundor, the 2 hours and 10 minutes long psychological drama revolves around an innocent couple Muku and Nayontara, who lives in an area of Dhaka city where supply of drinking water is limited. In summer, water supply is ceased for a few days. Local dwellers stored some water for emergency but Muku and Nayontara have no water at all. So they beg for water going door to door. Nobody gives them water but some people ruthlessly beat up Nayontara. In her deep indignation Nayontara sets out to take revenge and the film follow story. Starring by Kolkata’s Parambrata and Dhaka’s Bhabna in the lead roles, the film’s story is inspired by Moti Nandi’s story Joler Ghurni O Bokbok Shobdo. The film also features Hasan Imam, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Lutfor Rahman Jeorge, Faruque Ahmed, Allen Shuvro, among other actors.
