Seven popular Bangladeshi film-makers have decided not to sit idly by while the Bangladeshi film industry comes to a halt owing to the ongoing pandemic.
As part of a project titled Ghorbondi Somoyer Golpo, Gias Uddin Selim, Nurul Alam Atique, Animesh Aich, Shihab Shaheen, Sumon Anowar, Shafayet Mansoor Rana and Goutam Koiri are shooting seven short-films from their living room. Under the banner of Alpha-I Studio, all of them will be telecast on Deepto TV over the first seven days of Eid.
The spokesperson of Deepto TV said, “Most of the shooting is complete. The short films will be aired at 9.30 pm over the seven days.”
Producer of the short fims, Shahriar Shakil said: “We adhered by all the rues of social-distancing while producing this project. No one had to go outside. The artists sent their footage from their homes. Sometimes their family members assisted them in the process. But that’s all.”
On the heels of several online meetings among actors, producers, film-makers and film technicians, the project was launched.
Aside from Deepto TV, the short films will be available on the popular online platform Bioscope.
