Bangladeshi model and actress Tangia Zaman Methila is making headlines at the 74th Miss Universe pageant, where she currently stands fifth worldwide in the public voting round with over 73,000 votes.
The grand finale will take place on November 21 in Pak Kret, Thailand.
A leading face in Bangladesh’s fashion scene, Methila began her career in modeling before stepping into acting with her Bollywood debut film Rohingya (2019).
Known for her bold style and confident persona, she has previously represented the country in Face of Bangladesh and Face of Asia 2019, and was crowned Miss Supranational Bangladesh 2019 and Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020, though she could not compete internationally that year.
Now representing Bangladesh on the world’s biggest stage, Methila wrote in an emotional post: “With your 73,000 votes, we are now number 5 in the world. This time we all have to work together to bring the crown to Bangladesh. Bangladesh is unstoppable.”
Supported by stars like Jaya Ahsan, Bubly, and Runa Khan, Methila’s remarkable rise marks a new milestone for the country at Miss Universe — a story of comeback, confidence, and global recognition.
