On December 11, Wednesday, 9 short films by up-and-coming filmmakers will be screened at the 2nd-floor projection hall of the Bangladesh Film Archive from 6 pm.
The exhibition is organized by the National Search Committee that was formed to reform the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and in collaboration with the National Film Archive.
After the screening, the filmmakers and crew of the screened films will participate in a question-and-answer session with the audience.
The official schedule of this event includes Mahde Hasan’s Locarno selected short ‘A Boring Film’, Ariq Anam Khan’s Busan selected film ‘Transit’ and Debashish Das’s Prague winning ‘Niruddesh Jatra’.
Along with these, National and International award-winning shorts like Tasmiah Afrin Mou’s ‘Statement After My Poet Husband’s Death’, Mohammad Touqir Islam’s ‘’Aina’’, Golam Rabbani’s ‘Surot’, Hasib Shakil and Zayed Siddiki’s ‘Raven’ and Al Hasib Khan Ananda’s ‘Breathing is a gift’ will also be showcased in this special exhibition which is going to take place at Bangladesh Film Archive, Agargaon, Dhaka.
With this exhibition, Shah Newaz Khan Cju’s one-shot short film “Not A Fiction” will have its first screening in Bangladesh. It is based on extrajudicial killing and has received three Oscar-qualifying selections
The exhibition is open to all.
