'Bangla Contemporary Choir' album on Splice

This acapella vocal pack is composed by Armeen

“Contemporary Bangla Choir” a new sample pack has been released on Splice under the Aaroh label, composed and produced by Dhaka musician and composer Armeen Musa. Curated by Dhruv Goel, an LA-based Indian composer and artistic director for Aaroh.

This acapella vocal pack is composed by Armeen with a mix of traditional and modern vocal sounds of Bangla music including vocal harmonies, choir sounds, bol, sargam and folk sounds.

Members of Ghaashphoring Choir Atkia Sadia Rahman, Nandanangshu Purkyastha Dhrubo have sung on it as well as guest artists Adnan Rushdi and Abanti Sithi, and Armeen herself.

Iftekharul Shuvo engineered the album that was recorded at Kolorob Studio. The cover artwork was also done in Bangladesh by artist Nazneen Meem.

Armeen Musa though known popularly as a performer, as a composer continues to be nvolved in various musical projects locally and internationally including Facebook Sound Collection, documentary film music for Aniruddha Sen, film sound design for Reetu Sattar, theater soundtrack composition for Syed Jamil Ahmed’s “Ami Birangona Bolchi.” Currently Armeen is previewing her new album to a small audience with raw acoustic shows in London, Dhaka and more.
