Apurba’s Tollywood debut alongside Raima Sen

Apurba’s character in the movie ‘Chaalchitro’, produced by India’s Pratim D. Gupta, marks the star’s debut in Tollywood.

One of Bangladesh’s most recognisable faces, Ziaul Faruq Apurba, has now crossed the border to the other Bengal. Apurba’s character in the movie “Chaalchitro”, produced by India’s Pratim D. Gupta, marks the star’s debut in Tollywood.  

The Kolkata based production house, Friends Communications, announced Ziaul Faruq’s role in the movie on their social media page writing, “Delighted to announce the debut of Ziaul Faruq Apurba in Indian Cinema with our film Chaalchitro~The Frame Fatale directed by Pratim D. Gupta.”

The Bangladeshi actor will be working alongside popular names such as Raima Sen, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Shantanu Maheshwari, Swastika Dutta, Anirban Chakrabarti, among others. 

Kolkata media sources cite that Apurba is currently shooting for the film in the city. The actor noted that he is acting in the film because he likes the story. Apurba also expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration between the producer and the team. 

“Chaalchitro'' is said to be a thriller focusing on a group of officers from the Kolkata Police's detective branch, led by sharp officer Kanishk Chatterjee. The role of Chatterjee will be played by Tota Roy Chowdhury, as the group investigates a mysterious series of murders. 

Friends Communications has previously produced two movies named “Dictionary" and "Hubba' with Bangladeshi actor Mosharraf Karim. “Hubba” is still awaiting release.
