A group art exhibition titled “Dhaka Diorama: Impressions of a Mega City” is underway at Gulshan at Edge Gallery from August 5 to 8.
The exhibition organized by MW Bangladesh magazine features paintings and sculptures by 26 of the country’s artists.
The magazine editor, Rumana Chowdhury who curated the event said, “Dhaka Diorama is an attempt to support and showcase the rich legacy of Bangladeshi art, to promote our local artists, from our established legends to the freshest faces on the scene. We aim to bring on one platform, a diversity of talent. We also want to put the spotlight on Dhaka, in all its quirks and qualities, to bring forth the kaleidoscopic glimpses of everyday life in the mega city, as well as its monuments that have stood the test of time.”
Participating artists are Monirul Islam, Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Rokeya Sultana, Md Tokon, Rafiqun Nabi, Kuhu Plamondon, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, Abdus Sattar, Shahabuddin Ahmed, Mohammed Eunus, Abdus Shakoor, Hashem Khan, Shahid Kabir, Ahmed Shamsuddoha, Sheikh Afzal, Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, Mukti Bhowmik, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, Anisuzzaman Anis, Maksuda Iqbal Nipa, Mohammad Iqbal, Hasura Akhter Rumky, Anisuzzaman Faroque, Anisuzzaman Faroque, Shahanoor Mamoon, Shaymal Chandra Sarker and Suborna Morsheada.
