Goethe-Institut Bangladesh, in partnership with Alliance Française de Dhaka organized the “Dhaka City Sound Project Concert” on July 20 on the premises of Alliance Française.
The musicians performing during the event were Kanak Aditya (Vocalist), Shagor (Rapper), Eem (Percussion), and Jabiul Islam (flute).
The first concert of the series took place on the afternoon of July 18 at the Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park Amphitheater in Gulshan 2 organized in partnership with “Dhaka Sessions”.
The City Sound Project was initiated by Goethe-Institut in December 2022 and implemented in Dhaka, Kolkata and Colombo with the aim of creating a musical portrait of cities.
In 2022 Viktor Marek, German musician and music composer, visited Dhaka for research purposes. During this trip Marek immersed himself in the city's acoustic impressions, identifying these musicians to collaborate with him in producing the sonic portrait of Dhaka.
