Shabnam Ferdousi’s ‘Ajob Karkhana’ nominated for NETPAC award

Bangladeshi filmmaker Shabanam Ferdous’s debut feature film “Ajob Karkhana” has been nominated for the prestigious Asia Select (NETPAC Award) at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival.
The festival will be held in Kolkata from January 7 to January 14, 2022.
“Ajob Karkhana” received the national film grant in the 2016-17 fiscal year. Produced by filmmaker and media personality Samia Zaman, the film stars prominent Indian actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Dilruba Hossain Doyel, Shabnaz Sadia Emi, Khalid Hasan Rumi and others.

“Ajob Karkhana” will have its premiere at the Bangladeshi Panorama section of the 20th Dhaka International Film Festival in January.
The film revolves around a rock star who finds new purpose of life after meeting Baul musicians.
Influential documentary filmmaker Shabnam Ferdousi has made more than forty documentaries and won the National Film Award in 2016. “Ajob Karkhana” marks her first foray into feature films.
Last year, Bangladeshi Director Rezwan Shahriar Sumit’s debut feature film “Nonajoler Kabbo won the NETPAC Award.
