‘Nakshi Kathar Zamin’ gets censor board clearance

Filmmaker Akram Khan has brought to life the days of the Liberation War, based on the story of fiction writer Hasan Azizul Haque’s 'Bidhobader Kotha'.

“Nakshi Kathar Zamin” directed by Akram Khan has received clearance from the Censor Board. Farzana Munni, chairperson TM Films, confirmed the information. 

Farzana Munni said: “TM Films started with the dream of producing international quality domestic films. We wanted our TM Films journey to begin with a film production on our great Liberation War. As you already know - we have been the production partner of the film 'Nakshi Kathar Zamin,' which had received the National Film Grant. I'm happy to announce that the film has got censor clearance. We are also preparing to release the film in theatres.”

Filmmaker Akram Khan has brought to life the days of the Liberation War, based on the story of fiction writer Hasan Azizul Haque's “Bidhobader Kotha.”

The film was recently awarded as the third best film at the Bengaluru International Film Festival in India. Earlier, “Nakshi Kathar Zamin” brought honour to the country by being nominated for the ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Popular actress Jaya Ahsan has played one of the central roles in the film. Iresh Zaker and Raonak Haasan will be seen as two brothers. Two brothers Divya Jyoti and Soumya Jyoti are in two other major roles.
