On March 3, 2023, a public screening event titled “Shot by Shot” was held at the auditorium of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) Research Building, where they showcased the film “Saatao”. The event was hosted by ULAB's Film Apprentice Program “CinemaScope” where they had the honorable presence of the film's cast and crew. The event was attended by film enthusiasts, students, and industry professionals who were eager to know the journey of the film ‘Saatao'. Mrs. Nandita Tabassum Khan, Advisor of Cinemascope, along with the Instructor of Cinemascope, Mr. Zahid Gogon, and Dr. Sazzad Hossain, Senior Lecturer of the Media Studies and Journalism department of ULAB, was also present at the event.
The film ‘Saatao' directed by Khandaker Sumon follows the story of a farmer's lifestyle and his struggles based in a rural society of the Northern region of Bangladesh.
After the screening, the audience engaged in a thought-provoking discussion and also a Q&A session with the production team, which included the Director, the Assistant Director, and the Actor of “Saatao”. They shared their experiences of working on the film and discussed the creative process of bringing ‘Saatao' to life.
The event was an opportunity for aspiring filmmakers and cinema lovers to learn from industry experts and gain insights into the filmmaking process. It was also a chance for the film's team to connect with their audience and receive feedback on their work.
CinemaScope is a platform for ULAB students who want to practice advanced elements of film production, other than just shooting and bringing out a final product. With the aim of film reading, analyzing and making films, a group of students enroll into the ULAB Film Apprenticeship Program.
