Legendary director Martin Scorsese had plans to make a movie titled “Extreme City” in 2013, casting Shah Rukh Khan and Leonardo DiCaprio. Notable screenwriter Paul Schrader was on board that project as well. However, the much-awaited film starring two of the most popular actors from Hollywood and Bollywood was never made.

According to Paul Schrader, “Extreme City” never made progress due to the reluctance of Shah Rukh Khan. In an interview with “Open the Magazine” in 2013, Paul told that Shah Rukh Khan was never interested in doing international films that are not completely under his control.

Despite being a Hollywood filmmaker, Martin Scorsese, who turned 81 on November 17, has a fascination for Indian films. He often praises Indian films and filmmakers, particularly the works of legendary Bengali director Satyajit Ray.

Martin Scorsese always admired Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan, and wished to make a movie starring the actor, according to sources.

Martin Scorsese, who directed films like “GoodFellas,”“The Wolf of Wall Street” and “Shutter Island,” is returning to the motion picture scene with his new film, “Killers of the Flower Moon.” The film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023.
