Tasnuva Anan Shishir walked the ramp of New York Fashion Week 2022 on Sunday as the first Bangladeshi transgender woman.
Shishir, who is also the first trans-woman news presenter in Bangladesh, wore a dress designed by the internationally renowned costume designer Oscar Gonzalez Montanez on her debut ramp walk.
Shishir, expressing her feelings in a social media post, said she was overwhelmed by the way everyone had accepted her.
On December 2, she traveled to New York to accept the Showtime Music Award for Best Bangladeshi News anchor in North America. She received the award on December 4.
Later, Omar Faruk, a strategic partner of the New York Fashion Week, and 4M TV USA Executive Producer Md Ariful Islam invited her to make a guest appearance at the Fashion Week.
Before Shishir, Bangladeshi actress Mona Lisa and model Jannatul Peya participated in New York Fashion Week.
