Actor Ranveer Singh, who recently got mired in controversy over his nude photoshoot says someone has tampered with and morphed one of his photos.
He made the remarks while recording his statement with the police over a case filed regarding the matter, reports the Hindustan Times citing news agency ANI.
Ranveer posed nude for a magazine photoshoot. The photos went viral after they were posted online on July 22.
In one of the images, he was seen lying on a rug naked which many fans said was a recreation of Hollywood hunk Burt Reynold's famous photograph.
After an FIR was filed over the images, Mumbai police recorded his statement for two hours after the actor reached Chembur Police station at 7:30am on August 29, the Hindustan Times reports.
The Hindustan Times stated that when the actor was shown all the photos by the police, he denied uploading one of the pictures in which his private parts were allegedly visible.
Deputy commissioner of police, Krishna Kant Upadhyay, Zone VI, said that the actor answered all their questions and police officers said that Ranveer was completely cooperative with the investigators.
On July 26, an FIR was registered against Ranveer over a complaint filed by an office-bearer of the NGO who alleged that the actor hurt the sentiments of women with his nude photos.
According to the Hindustan Times, Mumbai Police filed the FIR under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code like 292 (sale of obscene books, etc), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young people), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and provisions of the Information Technology Act.
