It is old news that Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros ordered a “Dune” sequel last year, helmed by Denis Villeneuve. A-listers are now joining the ensemble cast, led by Timothée Chalamet, who played Paul Atreides in the 2021 film.

French actor Lea Seydoux, hot off her Cannes travel with “One Fine Morning” and “Crimes of the Future,” was cast in the role of Lady Margot for the upcoming sequel.

Margot is the Bene Gesserit wife of Count Hasimir Fenring, a close friend of the Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV, who will be played by Oscar-winning veteran actor Christopher Walken.

Author Frank Herbert described Margot as “golden-haired and willowy, her perfection of figure clothed in a flowing gown of ecru—simple fitness of form without ornament. She had that Bene Gesserit serene repose about her that the young man (Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen) found subtly disturbing.”

Villeneuve said in a statement, “It was a dream of mine to adapt Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune’ and I have the fans, the cast, and crew, Legendary and Warner Bros to thank for supporting this dream. This is only the beginning.”
