Farooki joins 2022 Sydney Film Festival jury

The festival will kick off on June 8, 2022

“Television” director Mostafa Sarwar Farooki has been invited to join the Official Competition Jury of the 2022 Sydney Film Festival (SFF), which will screen 200 films from 64 countries this year.

The festival will kick off on June 8, 2022 and run till June 19, 2022.

The winner of the prestigious Sydney film prize, which will be awarded to one of the 12 films in the official competition line-up, is set to be announced on the Closing Night ceremony at the State Theatre on 19 June, 2022.

Farooki will serve in the jury board alongside Australian actor and director David Wenham, BAFTA-nominated writer and director Jennifer Peedom, Berlin Golden Bear-winning Turkish writer-director-producer Semih Kaplanoğlu), and the Executive Director of the Kawakita Memorial Film Institute, Tokyo, Yuka Sakano (Japan).

Kamar Ahmed Simon’s latest documentary “Anyadin..” and Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’ “No Land's Man” will be screened over the course of the festival. The former will be screened at Sydney State Theatre on June 14 and Event Cinemas on June 18. Kamar and producer Sara Afreen will attend the screenings.

The 2021 Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer “No Land’s Man” will be screened in Sydney on June 16 and 19. Farooki and actor Megan Mitchell will attend the screenings.
