A new Netflix true-crime documentary, titled “The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes” is set to take on the late actor’s supposed suicide and give voice to the innumerable conspiracy theories surrounding her tragic death.
The Netflix documentary reveals new details, hitherto unknown to the public, regarding the night that Monroe overdosed on drugs. Previously classified interview clips from the re-opened 1992 Monroe case will be featured in the documentary as well.
“I can’t say anything and I knew it all,” the narrator says in the trailer. “Marilyn and the truth, it’s like getting into the lion’s den and I indeed found out things which had not been found out before."
Directed by Emma Cooper and produced by “Tiger King” creator Chris Smith, the new Monroe documentary will debut on April 27.
Interest in Monroe’s illustrious career and tragic death seems to have been reignited in recent years. A new film, “Blonde,” produced by Brad Pitt and starring Ana de Armas as Monroe, is also awaiting release.
