Emmys 2021: Five most acclaimed TV series to watch now

Television’s biggest ceremony, the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards, was held on Sunday, at an outdoor tent in downtown LA, due to the concerns over the delta variant of coronavirus. The stars stepped out in lavish outfits and the much-coveted awards were handed out to this year’s most deserving nominees, with Netflix reaching a new height with most Emmys for the first time. Here are the five highly acclaimed TV shows that took home this year’s top prizes:

Starring Ewan McGregor, the limited series tells the story of a man who leverages his single, invented name into a worldwide fashion empire that's synonymous with luxury, sex, status and fame, literally defining the era.

Ted Lasso

The series follows an American football coach Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, who heads to the UK to manage a struggling London football team in the top flight of English football. Two seasons, comprising 21 episodes, have aired as of today. 

Mare of Easttown

A veteran detective in a small Pennsylvania town, played by Kate Winslet, investigates a local murder of a teenage girl while trying to keep her family life from falling apart.

I May Destroy You

A fearless, frank and provocative half-hour series exploring the question of sexual consent and where, in the new landscape of dating and relationships, the distinction between liberation and exploitation lies.

The Crown

The popular Netflix drama follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II's reign and the events that shaped the second half of the twentieth century.
