Universal Pictures dropped the official trailer for M Night Shyamalan’s horror thriller “Old,” which will hit the theatres on July 23.
Shyamalan, director of The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs, has penned the script himself. His new horror film, ‘Old’, boasts an impressive international cast.
The film revolves around a group of tourists who start to age suddenly and rapidly on a mysterious beach. As they all fail to leave, a horrible claustrophobia sets in, with the possibility of dying in a matter of time, looming large on the horizon.
Shyamalan’s last film ‘Glass’ came out nearly two years ago, in 2019. Based on Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters’ graphic novel ‘Sandcastle,’ his latest film will hit the theatres in July.
The official synopsis reads, "This summer, visionary filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan unveils a chilling, mysterious new thriller about a family on a tropical holiday who discover that the secluded beach where they are relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age rapidly... reducing their entire lives in a single day."
The cast includes Gael García Bernal, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Embeth Davidtz, and Rufus Sewell.
'Old' was shot in the Dominican Republic by cinematographer Mike Gioulakis, who also shot acclaimed horror films 'Us' and 'It Follows.'
