‘Banned’ Shakib Khan’s new film Ami Neta Hobo

Things aren’t going that well for Dhallywood’s superstar Shakib Khan. At a time, when dispute and feud are constantly chasing him, the shoot for his latest Indo-Bangla joint venture, Chaalbaaz has been postponed, while Cholchitro Paribar repealed his membership from the organisation and declared him ‘uninvited’ in the BFDC. Meanwhile, the Shikari actor is about to start shooting for a new film titled Ami Neta Hobo, amidst the ban. Directed by Uttam Akash, Shakib has signed for the film, for which the shoot is about to start from this month, long before the ban was confirmed. The actor also informed that he has a number of works in his hands, including Chaalbaaz and Ami Neta Hobo, which will feature two new actors, Mishti Jannat and Supti. But aficionados are wondering whether the actor will be able to start working in his native industry, which has banned him and eventually, repealed his membership on June 23. “I haven’t received any written statement regarding the repeal yet. Everyone is coming forward to save our films and I am not against the industry. At the end of the day, we’ll have to work together in the same premise,” Shakib stated on the matter. “We’ll have to promote the industry. I don’t think there will be any problem regarding my work in the new film,” he added. Selim Khan, kingpin of Shapla Media, who is producing Ami Neta Hobo, thinks the same way as Shakib and believes that there won’t be any issues. “Shakib was banned in June, but he signed for my film in May. So, there will be no problems in regard, I hope,” he said. Interestingly, Badiul Alam Khokon, secretary general of Parichalak Samiti and member secretary of Cholochitro Paribar, said that there is no chance for Shakib to work in the film and no technician from BFDC will work with Shakib Khan anyway. “There is no chance of letting this happen, based on the fact that the deal was signed before the ban. If we permit this to happen once, then there will be more people who’ll try to cast him, showing an earlier date. Shakib Khan will be only be able to finish the works which have completed more than 50% of the production. Aside from that, no BFDC technician will work with him even if he wants to,” said Khokon.
