Katrina Kaif is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Jagga Jasoos, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor. Directed by Anurag Basu, Jagga Jasoos is scheduled to be released next Friday on July 14. With the impending film on the horizon, Kat conveniently made news after an Instagram post by model Shamita Singha became viral.
Snapped 15 years ago, the photo captured an amazing moment of Katrina Kaif sharing the frame with former Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi. Katrina and her companions were visiting Libya then for a fashion show in the North African Arab country. Unsurprisingly, the image went viral instantly.
Shamita shared the picture under her Instagram handle and saying: “Almost 15 years ago when we all were in Libya for a fashion show and had the privilege of meeting the man Mr. Gaddafi himself! Girls! Remember this trip??”
Models Aditi Govitrikar, Aanchal Kumar and Neha Dhupia also appear in the throwback photo. Shamita, however, deleted the photo from her Instagram for unknown reasons.
Few years ago, Beyonce, Mariah Carey and other pop stars were criticised when it emerged that they had been paid to perform at private parties hosted by Gaddafi’s son. Katrina, however, is unlikely to be embarrassed by an old group picture featuring the Libyan president. Gaddafi was killed in 2011 after a NATO assisted insurgency in the country.
The picture has become talk of Bollywood with Fans arguing about the ethics of accepting invitation by controversial organisers.
