The much-rumoured collaboration between horror filmmaker Ari Aster and Oscar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix is now becoming a reality. Deadline reported that the duo is all set to work in an A24 film, titled Disappointment Blvd.
The film has been described as “an intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.”
Deadline reports: “As for production, while a start date is unknown at this time, it is very likely that Phoenix will shoot this before the Ridley Scott pic ‘Kitbag,’ where Phoenix will play Napoleon Bonaparte. Scott is currently prepping his crime thriller Gucci, making Kitbag’s production more likely for top of 2022.”
Pheonix will also produce the film, and this is his second time collaborating with A24. He had previously worked with the producing studio for C’mon C’mon, which is yet to go into wide release.
Ari Aster confirmed earlier in July 2020 that his next project was going to be a four-hour ‘nightmare comedy.’ “All I know is that it’s gonna be four-hours long,” he said.
Both of Aster’s previous films have been a hit with fans and critics alike.
