Armie Hammer drops out of another project amid social media scandal

Disturbing allegations of cannibalism and sexual abuse continue to mount against the ‘Call Me by Your Name’ actor

Armie Hammer dropped out of a ten-episode series on the making of Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘The Godfather’ amid social media controversy.

The miniseries titled ‘The Offer’ was set to explore the iconic trilogy with Armie Hammer in the role of film producer Al Ruddy.

Over the last two weeks, the ‘Call Me by Your Name’ actor has been accused of cannibalism, sexual and emotional abuse by a number of women, including his ex girlfriends Courtney Vucekovich and Paige Lorenze.

The controversy began when a few social media users alleged that the actor had sent them disturbing texts about raping and mutilating them. The screenshots of those texts were leaked online. Although Hammer has refused all allegations against him, he is continuing to drop out of projects one after another.

As of today, he has exited Jennifer Lopez starrer action-comedy ‘Shotgun Wedding’ and been replaced in star-studded limited series ‘Gaslit’, followed by the latest news of his departure from Paramount’s ‘The Offer’.

One of the accusers, Paige Lorenze, a 22-year-old model who briefly dated Hammer, reported the disturbing details of their romantic life to Daily Mail. “He wanted to find a doctor in LA, so that he could remove one of my ribs, as ‘you do not need it’ and then barbecue it and eat it while I watch.” He said that more than once. He was very serious.”

The model recounted being ‘covered in bruises’ throughout her relationship with the actor, including one event when he cut her with a knife. She added, “His actions and behavior are dangerous and emotionally and psychologically damaging. He is saying people are kink- shaming him and should not comment on his sex life, but BDSM is a smoke screen for him wanting to hurt women.”

“You can be just as traumatized by consensual sex. It’s unacceptable that he coerces women into agreeing to let him hurt them.”
